Tez-tələsik yeməyini
bitirdi. Anasının çay dəmləməsini izləməyə başladı. Özünə etiraf etmək istəməsə
də anası qocalırdı. Boyanın belə ağlığını gizlədə bilmədiyi saçları, artıq əvvəlki
kimi cəld olmayan hərəkətləri, tez-tez təngnəfəs olması deyirdi ki, anam
qocalıb.
Qabağında buğlanan çayın ətri burnuna dəyəndə sanki
zamanda səyahət etdi, uşaqlığına qayıtdı.
Orda nə ailə, nə uşaq, nə də iş problemləri, gələcək
qayğıları yox idi. Orada anası hələ cavan idi, pillələri üç-üç çıxır, yorulmur,
üzü-əlləri qırışmamışdı.
Xatirələri bugünkü kimi canlı idi. Hər şey sanki
indi baş verirmiş kimi gözünün qabağından keçirdi. Birdən sualının cavabını
tapdı. O, arzuladığı xoşbəxtliyi artıq yaşamışdı. Bəs niyə fərqinə varmamışdı?
Axı fərqinə varsaydı, bu xoşbəxtlik olmazdı.
Görəsən xoşbəxtliyin belə sadə, yaxın və əlçatan
olmasını anlamaq niyə bu qədər vaxtımızı alır? Bizmi gecikirik, yoxsa həyatmı tələsir?
How happy we were…
When he looked at the
mirror, he saw few white hair. He got scared for a moment, but he came to his
senses soon. He was 30. Youth was slowly going away from him, by leaving only
memories. He was preparing for trip with thinking about it. He had trip after
some time. He wanted to go to his village for few days and break from the hustle
and bustle. Right now, it was the best times of the village. Yards full of
children’s noise were smelling lilac and fresh bread.
During the trip he was
thinking that am I happy or have I ever been happy?
These questions were bothering
him for long time. He had found his place in life. He has good job which many
people dream about and loving family. Everything was alright in his life. At least
it looked like that. But why he was struggling with these questions? Was it so
hard to reply? If he asked from friends all of them would have said that he doesn’t
have any reason not to be happy, of course he is happy.
But it wasn’t the answer
that he wanted.
He got off the car in
front of their house. The village has specific smell in each season. He smelled
the spring- lilac, freshly cut grass and fresh bread. For some time he thought
that this smell is the answer of his question.
His mother cooked his
favorite gutab and was waiting for him. Samovar also was boiling. It meant that
in about ten minutes tea would be ready.
He met his mother and sat
to eat. He listened to news about the village while eating gutab with butter churn. He quickly finished eating.
After that he was watching his mother’s tea making process. Although he didn’t want
to confess, his mother was getting old.
White hair which even
hair dye couldn’t hide, her movements which weren’t quick as before, shortness of breath were saying that
his mother is aged.
When he smelled the steaming tea he felt as if he travelled in time. He went
back to his childhood.
There weren’t family or
job issues, there weren’t worries about future. His mother was young there, she
was climbing stairs in threes, she wasn’t getting tired, her face and hands weren’t
wrinkled.
His memories were fresh
like today’s. everything was in front of his eyes as if it happened right now. Suddenly
he found his answer. He had lived the happiness which he dreamed about. But why
wasn’t he aware of that?
But if he was aware, it wouldn’t
have been happiness.
Why does it take too much
time to understand that happiness is so simple, close and accessible? Are we late or is life in hurry?
